Forms of research:
- Primary Data:
- First hand data, face to face interviews, groups interviews, focus groups, questionnaires.
- Secondary Data:
- Data from other sources, internet, books, journals, magazines, Tv and newspapers.
- Qualitative Data:
- Typically descriptive, in-depth data used to find out how people think about a given product.
- Questions that need a more descriptive answers, for example what are your favorite type of tv show and why?
- Quantitative Data:
- Data that can be measured numerically, likert scale. (e.g. the number of people who watch a given television show).
- Closed questions, yes or no questions.
Methods of conducting market research:
- Interviews.
- Online survey.
- Focus groups.
