Forms of research:
  • Primary Data: 
  • First hand data, face to face interviews, groups interviews, focus groups, questionnaires.
  • Secondary Data:
  • Data from other sources, internet, books, journals, magazines, Tv and newspapers.

  • Qualitative Data: 
  • Typically descriptive, in-depth data used to find out how people think about a given product.
  • Questions that need a more descriptive answers, for example what are your favorite type of tv show and why? 
  • Quantitative Data:
  • Data that can be measured numerically, likert scale. (e.g. the number of people who watch a given television show).
  • Closed questions, yes or no questions.

Methods of conducting market research:
  • Interviews.
  • Online survey.
  • Focus groups.
